Biamp’s philosophy for simplifying AV solutions for Teaching & Learning spaces in HE

    20th June 2023, 14:00 - 15:00

Deployment of audio-visual systems are often more challenging than they need be. Supply chain issues from some manufacturers, late handover of finished rooms from building contractors and reduced commissioning time can lead to deadlines for completion being missed. Biamp has developed an innovative way of designing these spaces in order to mitigate some of these issues and have developed a platform called Classroom Designer this enables the user to easily configure a space with consistency and accuracy, whilst being very simple to use. The software is completely free.

This workshop will be led by Nevil Bounds  & Hans Timmermans.

Flexible learning needs flexible tech – sharing Kaltura’s experience

    20th June 2023, 15:15 - 16:15

The latest ALT survey on learning technology trends highlights the priority for flexible, video-based learning solutions in HE institutions (2022/23 ALT Annual Survey). Video is now used extensively for synchronous and on-demand classes, where student choice, meaningful engagement, and adaptable teaching modalities, are commonplace across most institutions. More and more universities are waking up to this need for flexibility, but rigid legacy systems often impede this ambition. By using unified, flexible technology that covers the entire student lifecycle (from applicants to enrolled students to lifelong learners and alumni), universities can solve their biggest challenges in media management, accessibility, supporting mixed-learner cohorts, and more.

Join Kaltura’s Taco Scargo, EMEA Senior Solutions Engineer, and Sergei Tugarinov, Head of Education, UK&I in this workshop where they discuss the latest trends and insights around the challenges facing instructors and learners in supporting flexible learning.
